About Us
Western Australia Amputee Sports Program (WAASP) is a not-for-profit charity that has emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community. WAASP has been designed for amputees to partake in various sporting opportunities, identify future athletic pathways and improve overall mobility.
Our mission is to provide personal experiences for amputees to have a great time partaking in sporting opportunities, learn new skills from both able-bodied and Paralympic athletes, as well as connecting with other amputees and their families.

Provide sporting days and clinics that include education and training opportunities for optimal mobility, running, balance, yoga and boxing, to name a few.

Provide group sessions from physiotherapists and exercise physiologists on gait and optimal biomechanics for running and walking.

Provide mentorship opportunities and listen to inspirational stories from past and present Paralympic athletes and aspiring athletes.

Provide prosthetic fundraising and sponsorship for running and athletic componentary.

Establish a sporting community for amputee’s in Perth, Western Australia.

Provide networking opportunities and development of new skills for health care practitioners working with people with limb loss.
